Ph.D. in Political Science
María Fernanda joined ISET-International in 2012 after completing her graduate studies at University of Connecticut in Storrs. She earned a Ph.D. in Political Science in 2014 and her dissertation focused on the Ecuadorian environmental social movement and the promotion of the rights of nature. Before moving to the United States for graduate school, Maria Fernanda worked for eleven years with the U.N. Global Environment Facility-Small Grants Program in Ecuador, where she managed grants afforded to hundreds of local grassroots organizations, made possible by foreign donors.
