Project Overview
ISET will provide technical assistant to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to strengthen access to tools and guidance on disaster risk-sensitive land use planning and urban development processes in Asia and the Pacific, including Da Nang city.

Input from ISET urban planning experts was incorporated into the publication Reducing Disaster Risk by Managing Urban Land Use: Guidance Notes for Planners.
Core Program Activities
ISET urban planning and disaster risk management specialists contributed to a guidebook on how to integrate disaster risk management considerations into urban development planning in Asian cities. Specials provided guidance on risk-sensitive land use planning, risk sensitive urban redevelopment, and risk-sensitive water, wastewater and storm water drainage system development. The input of ISET experts was based on experiences in Da Nang, Vietnam. ISET specialists also produced a case study on incentives for investing in disaster risk management, based on experiences in Da Nang.
