Overview

The term resilience is increasingly taking the center stage in efforts to address climate change in cities. However, it is still difficult to determine what it means to build resilience in practice. This briefing note presents some of the core elements of resilience building processes that can help cities fulfill the potential of deeper ideas around resilience. It draws on practical urban climate resilience programs - the Rockefeller Foundation-funded Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN) and the USAID-funded Mekong-Building Climate Resilience in Asian Cities (M-BRACE).
